The Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority

An independent governmental agency created by the Texas Transportation Commission and the Hidalgo County Commissioners Court on November 17th, 2005, to accelerate needed transportation projects in Hidalgo County.

Overseen by a seven member Board of Directors, the Hidalgo County RMA is committed to finding ways to empower our local community to take charge of our transportation future.

US 281/BSIF Connector

Complete

US 281/BSIF Connector

A non-tolled roadway along US 281 (Military Highway) from 0.45 miles east of SP 600 to FM 2557 (Stewart Road). It includes a new grade-separated interchange at SH 35 and US 281, as well as a 0.70-mile non-tolled connector from US 281 (Military Highway) to SP 29 (Veterans Boulevard).

International Bridge Trade Corridor (IBTC)

The HCRMA, in partnership with the TxDOT Pharr District will construct a 13.15-mile roadway that will improve regional mobility by providing a direct connection for people and goods traveling from international ports of entry north to I-2 between US 281 and FM 493. The project will pass through the cities of Pharr, Alamo, and Donna, requiring the use of existing right-of-way as well as additional land and easements.

365 Tollway (Segments 1 & 2)

A 17.4-mile controlled-access corridor connecting FM 1016 to US 281. Once open it will divert heavy trucks out of city streets and cut cross-county trips by up to 25 minutes. First lanes scheduled to open in 2026.
